OPC Front discs and pads plus brake fluid change

Hi all,
Offer from OPC £585 (OPC remains nameless until job is done for this price!) as they want the business rather than me buying and fitting OE parts myself mail order.

Is this a good deal? I know its cheaper than list but anyone come across better?

Should i still be doing it myself?

Whats the difference between OE and OEM and Porsche parts? They seem to be listed seperately on some parts places.

Thanks

Rick

Christ, that seems good. A bloody Subaru dealer once quoted over £1000 for front and rear Brembo pads and Brembo discs it did not need.

I have the old style warranty but want to take the renewal to the new style in summer so i guess i cant fit my own?

But the guy from the OPC said it would be ok as long as the parts were genuine....??! Not sure about that.....

Car has 49K miles and the discs and pads have a lot of life left except the discs are a bit warped and gets worse when really using them []

He's right, the old warranty allows you to fit parts yourself, and as long as the parts are OEM the new warranty will still apply.

An alternative is to just skim the discs at an indi.

I bought this kit from Design911 this week (all OEM spec):

Item Quantity Item Price Line Price
Brake Pads and Brake Disc Package Porsche Boxster 986 S
(BRAKEKIT996F)
Brake Pads & Disc Kit: Front Package
1 £199.00 £199.00

Delivery Service £11.95
Net Total £210.95
VAT (Delivery country: United Kingdom) £31.64
Total £242.59

Thanks everyone,
I had the discs skimmed at the OPC and it improved the siuation but its not 100%.

I know i can fit the new discs myself under the current warranty but i have read somewhere (on here i think) that then i wouldnt be able to take out the new warranty. Still cant get a definitive answer on this.

The OPC say its ok but they have proven to not know the correct answer to things before......

Seems like its about £200 more to go to OPC when you factor in the brake fluid change included. May be worth it to know i can defo take the warranty in summer.......
