Although OPC's rank alongside dentists in my top twenty places to avoid at all costs list they have, on occasion, done things for free.

The DVLA centre in Bristol is not far from Lovetts and when I submitted the forms for my private plate I called in to Lovetts to order a hardtop storage kit and asked if they could get someone to stick on my new plates. The rep did look a little surprised that I had just asked but they did it anyway.

OPC Swindon replaced the little air deflectors at the front of the car and also re-attached the leather skins of both seats that had come away from the back of the seats. At the same time they programmed the doors to lock automatically when in motion.

:ROFLMAO:Hi JCB ... It's all a question of good PR/CR IMO .. When PCGB were servicing my Speedster for 7 pleasurable years I never got charged for any little add ons like drivers door rattle, rear hood clam not shutting easily, or another that springs to mind fitting 3 Spoke Steering Wheel. (They did charge me £365.00+ VAT for the wheel though [:(])

All I ever got billed for was the service and even this was at a much more cost effective rate than any local OPC would have offered.

It's horses for courses and these days many garages in my back yard London! would like to charge you just for setting foot through the electronic glass doors into there air conditioned glass-house, equipped with the very latest technology for removing money from the great unwashed's bank account :ROFLMAO:

Silverstone is a massive new dealership that opened this summer at Towcester after the franchise was withdrawn from Arlington Mercedes/Porsche in Northampton. Silverstone is part of the American-owned Sytner Group which is going through a huge growth programme. In an ironic twist, Sytner has now bought Arlington from Lex, including the empty Porsche showroom in Northampton. Actually its now only partly empty because its now being used for Smart cars.

Well all I can say is, at least Sytner did it in the right order. Build the Towcester site first then buy the old Arlington plot. It makes life so much more easy to take the car for a service. (Well, for me at least).

They have yet to sort out the PCGB discount though.
