OPC maintained but no proper history

I have a 987.1 which, for at least the first 10 years of its life, had the factory warranty renewed annually that covered all servicing and repairs. Whilst the book is stamped, I have no idea what they did other than the routine servicing. Does anyone know if this is held on record somewhere? Are the dealers normally helpful with this kind of query? Be good to know things like IMS, RMS, water pump, AC condensers etc. I would guess at 60k, probably none of these but would be good to know if I ever come to sell it.

TIA
Dick

What is done under warranty is as far as I know never detailed in any correspondence to the vehicle owner. I doubt the relevant OPC will share it with you but worth a try.

Richard,

Since you have a service record you could try contacting the dealer(s) who performed the services to see if they still have a record of all the work they did on the car. Mind you, probably it’ll take a bit of work for them to find anything, so they’re not guaranteed to be helpful, but it’s worth a try.

Good luck!

When purchasing my 996 4S in 2009, I inherited a warranty & had work done through this in 2010 at OPC Cambridge.
I asked for the invoice on work that was carried out, for my records & they obliged, no questions asked.
However, getting info on previous owners may be more problematic due to 'confidentiality' as any paperwork would have their contact details on any invoices.....

Shouldn't be any issues with previous owner's details as they're on the service sheets.
I'll have a phone around at some point. I just didn't want to do that and then find a central database which had existed all along.
Thanks all :)

I have had sone success with contacting the servicing OPC. They provided me with the "job sheets” with the be invoice to and amount paid fields redacted.

i learned a little about the cars history from that (the frunk switch had been replaced) but unfortunately it didn’t tell me if any additional work had been done (my service book was a duplicate with just the "service” stamps in place)

doesn’t hurt to ask but would suggest to ask for job sheets with all personal details redacted otherwise they just say "GDPR" and then run and hide in the toilets.

on my 2000 Boxster the local OPC were able to tell me my car has only been seen twice at Porsche Chester for an ABS fault and a window regulator - with having no other history I was hoping to learn a bit more but i just use it and enjoy it and I'm scheduling in some service items over the next year (it's had a major service just before I got it thankfully)
