OPC Servicing Costs

I know others have complained about the high cost of OPC servicing. My 981 Boxster S went in last week to my local dealer (Newcastle) for a minor service. I decided to have the convertible serviced too which also included checking the dreaded drains and as the car will be 12 years old in May I also went for the pdk service.
The total cost was £1160 based on classic labour rates and after 10% club discount on parts. Granted that this did not include changing the pdf filter (not required) but I thought that was reasonable in the circumstances. They also investigated my passenger door lock (see my previous post) and replaced it under warranty. The car went in on Friday morning and I collected it on Saturday morning. I was also provided with a new Electric Macan 4 whilst my car was with them.
All in all, I was impressed with this OPC.
 
My golf was £185 and they are both VAG cars. I guess some people are happy with the new prices , some like me are not.

It's the upscaled labour rates at £260 per hour and the double cost on oil vs buying your own oil which narks a bit. A free cup of coffee does not = reasonable rates to me.
Buy a Ferrari you get 7 years free servicing. So it's not even the higher end brands excuse.

I am skilled Engineer and charge £125 a hour as an example, any one can swap oil in a car and replace a pollen filter but we have to pay £260 an hour.
Ona 981 I would take it to a PPN Porsche dealer and pay £100 per hour and pay 1/2 price for the oil, and the OPC will see it's been done on their system if you use a Porsche partner Network garage.
 
I also think it's the cost they charge for oil. I have just paid £50 for 5 ltrs from Opie Oils. An OPC charges almost £25 a litre!

Thanks for your comments. I do appreciate that servicing would be cheaper at an independent and having checked I could have saved about £175 on the minor service but I have a Porsche warranty that I'm led to believe means I have to have it serviced at an OPC. My post was not just about the cost but the overall service I received and how quick the faulty lock was replaced.

Our Lexus main dealer service was about the same price.
What’s the phrase “the quality is remembered long after the price is forgotten “ however I can’t remember who said it.
 
Just paid £200 for an oil change, oil filter, brake fluid change on my wife's Skoda Citigo. About as basic as it comes.
Local garage First Stop in Wolverhampton, used them many times before.

Skoda dealer price was quoted as £450

How do your overheads compare to that of an OPC?
How many non-revenue generating staff do you employ?
What are your premises costs as a proportion of your costs?
 
Here is the breakdown,
Minor Service including brake fluid change £675
Roof Service £45
PDK Service £440

did they change the Sump pan, bolts, gasket and fill plug. I’ve been quoted £350 in parts as mentioned above by a local Indy on an up and coming PDK service. He has also mentioned that to reduce price these don’t have to be done. Interested if your OPC did. But doubt it at that price.

No it did not. Most of the parts were oil but it did include sealing plugs x 3, seal bolt with sealing and screw plug.
 
My point about the Skoda Citigo was even the most basic of cars has a £200 cost for a simple service.
The dealer was 2 x more.

Seems to be the measure of the industry.
 
My Sons I20N goes in for its first service (10K) next month. £169. Second service which includes brake fluid change £269.

Have you checked PET system prices? suggested retail inc VAT for 20L is over £600 so dealers aren’t always the villains with what Porsche are charging the network.
