OPC Tonbridge praise

With so many negative comments regarding service and or costs charged by OPC centers, I thought it right to give praise where praise is due. For those fortunate enough to attend, I have just returned from a fabulous weekend in wales organized by Gary & Jo with the 997 register. This involved a track day experience (amazing to put the car through its paces) and then a drive on the Sunday. During the drive on Sunday, I was unfortunate (silly!!) enough to catch a rock and rip a hole through the tyre.

The car had to be recovered and so did we, Porsche assist did an amazing job and had the car recovered in about 40/50 mins in total and we where collected about an hour and 20mins later.

Our car was recovered to OPC Tonbridge and required a new tyre, the rim needed cleaning of tyre sealant and a new canister of sealant required also. I had retained a replaced tyre from my last full tyre set change and so asked if they would put this on. The centre happily agreed and even collected the tyre from my home and said the car would be ready for when I had arranged collection on the Wednesday.

I collected my car on the agreed date and was overjoyed to be re-united with my steed. She had been valeted and was all shiny and bright inside & out, the tyre replaced, wheel checked re-balanced and new sealant replaced. The bill, a whopping £32.00

Now thats what I call old fashioned service and what I would hope to receive from an OPC centre looking to retain customers. I will certainly continue to use them for future work

So, WELL DONE OPC TONBRIDGE - KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK AND THANK YOU

Really pleased it all worked out ok, Steve. Hope you liked my photo of Ferrari man overseeing events at the roadside! Good old Tonbridge, eh! My old stomping ground - don't go anywhere near the G and D in Speldhurst by any chance?[:)]

Steve

Good to hear you and your better half got home OK and were well looked after. We did ask after you on the day.

Agree with your sentiments - often the OPC's get a bad press but all too infrequently people recognize them when they do a good job.

When we broke down on the Isle of Man, Porsche Assist were excellent as were Colchester OPC.

Hope the experience did not put you off and hope to see you on a 997 run out soon.

A great response from the OPC and Porsche assist, both deserve the praise indeed.
Some may think we should expect this level of service but I'm at a loss where the OPC made its money from, so I'm even more impressed by their actual customer service - which this was[:)]
Glad it was all sorted so smoothly for you both, bearing in mind the location was pretty much in the middle of nowhere...

We were also worried that the old lady (who so kindly came to your assistance) my have had a sister in the house when you went in alone [;)]

As Tom says, we hope to see you out again soon.

Gary, In fact she did have a sister!!! or maybe a daughter actually. I was tempted to introduce you!!! But they were both very kind, made us tea and allowed us to enjoy the view of the mountain road from there garden while we waited for the recovery etc, I did not see any crazy porsche drivers on it though.

Thank you every one for your concern and comments, as far as the D & G in speldhurst, I live about an hour away so its not my stomping ground at all, having said that, always open to visiting a good ale house, do they serve wenches there as well by any chance.

Even though we had to shorten our run and be recovered, we still both thoroughly enjoyed the weekend, as much the company as the driving and so we will definately do another one. Already booked our places for a Brugge run if it happens

The photo of Lancerlot is one to be cherished for ever, its like that joke, how many blokes does it take to change a light bulb !! I think everyone was interested to see if the sealant worked, just a shame it didn't Would you mind emailing me a copy or can I take it of the forum site?

Have some pics myself to sort out and will get them uploaded soon
