OPC Warranty & Indy Servicing?

Hi,

I have the OPC extended warranty and have always had my car serviced at my local OPC. However, I assume that the extended warranty is only dependent on the car being serviced to Porsche standards. Does this mean that the service can be done at an independent specialist? Has anyone tried this or discussed the repurcussions of warranty issues with their OPC?

I suspect that it is not the thing to be done, but thought I would ask anyway. The reason behind this is that I keep hearing that the independants know more about Porsche servicing than the OPC. Not sure if this is true either. My OPC have always been approachable to me and been willing to discuss issues ... but they are expensive.

In theory it shouldn't be an issue due to the block exemption rule but I'm sure someone will come along and give a pragmatic insight
