Hmm, with ref to Pete B's reply and the RMS issue, Porsche have changed their warranty as from June this year - the warranty is now underwritten by Porsche themselves and not a third party insurance company.
My understanding is that any RMS failure WILL be covered by the terms of the post June '04 warranty.
The terms and conditions book is available from any OPC...and it looks very comprehensive. Obviously the standard clauses still remain - OPC servicing, not abused, non standard parts etc.
My experience of the warranty was very good, as was the repairing OPC (who didn't supply my car)
The car was transported to the OPC and that was it...phone call to put my mind at rest, daily updates on the repair status, and the car transported back to me on completion.
The warranty seemed to work very well...OPC diagnosed problem as 3 cracked liners, Porsche approved engine renewal and arranged for the replacement engine to be transported from Germany to Aberdeen...in less than 48 hours from receipt of my car the OPC had the new engine available to fit.
I can't fault the handling of the repair in any way - no doubt much will depend on the OPC's "attitude" Needless to say I was hugely impressed.
For me it's a simple choice (but the £725 cost still irks!)
