Open Windows on Holiday

Whilst on holiday the Boxster was parked outside the hotel and came down one morning to find that both windows were down by approx. 10cm. Had locked up the car as per normal and not touched the keys; has anyone had this happen to them?
Thanks in anticipation.
Edward

986 or 987?

If 987, it is very common, and probably false key activation - the Gen 1 remote buttons are very sensitive. I changed the programming on mine to disable comfort opening via remote (using a Porsche tester), and also fitted revised buttons, which has eliminated the problem.

Richard,
Mine's a 987 - Sept 2007 reg - and I have noticed that the buttons are quite sensitive. If I have the keys in my pocket sometimes the car does lock if I bend over[:-].
Why should the windows go down though[8|]?

What Richard is saying is that if you have comfort mode activated a sustained press of the unlock button will lower the windows, windows lowering stops when the button is released, therefore if you had accidently pressed the unlock button and held it a few seconds the windows would start to drop, releasing the switch stops the windows lowering further, however because the car did not have a door opened the system will auto relock after 30 seconds or is that 1 minute, the windows however would not raise

I haven't had the comfort mode deprogrammed but have changed the key buttons, you can order them from the OPC Pt No 00004340014 and these fit the gen 1 keys only.

Had no problems since fitting them[:D]

Might be the roof micro switch. Happened to my 986 - if the windows dropped to the same level as happens when you lower the roof, this might be the problem. Switch was about £100 from memory.
