very close to me and I'd been considering replacing my old classic rangie for the winter.
Seems a good price with the 2 main issues addressed. Decent mileage too.

Looks lovely - but it drinks fuel, but I guess you're used to that! A lot of car for the money.

I wouldn't be without our old "S" on Winter rubber it will go through any snow like a razor blade!

even though the KN would outclass it in every way but, well, class.
 
well my opinion is possibly biased as I bought something very similar. A 2003 Turbo, was 1 grand more but had done less than 40k miles. I have had it 6 months now and can say it was the best decision I have made. I have had a a boxster s and a 993 before and withstanding the lack of noise it can be just as much fun to drive. Yes it is ugly but unbelievably practical, quick and comfortable. I am getting just under 19mpg from mixed driving, as long as you can live with that, then go for it.
