Hi gents, can you help, after covering the glode to find a mint set of 997 turbo wheels, i am un-dicided in what i like. I like both and the general feeling from my mates is they will not commit either!!

I trust i can rely on this great forum and all the great members to give me there opinions.

I have attatched to pic's hope you can help its doing my head in!!!

So these.....

I think I prefer option 1 (just - its marginal!) What wheels are they?

Also, let's have a close-up of the small Porsche badge on the front wing - I quite like the idea of that! Is it a sticker?

(Hint: If you click the "embed picture in post" box before you upload the photo, it gives a thumbnail view of the image in the post)

They are Tech-art formula, thanks for the hint, the badges are brass wing badges, not stickers i put them on because that part of the car looks boring.. i also have them on the seat backs and they look great.

It also looks like i have wasted some money on the 997 turbo wheels..... oh well, lets have a few more opinions before i swap them back.

Cheers Rich

Don't take any notice of me - I'm just not a big fan of black wheels. Call me old-fashioned - most people do!

Are the badges self-adhesive, and where did they come from?

Ebay...!! but i think type911 sell them, they are official porsche so you can get them from there, but they are dear as usual, badges and enamel and just a smaller version of the bonnet badge. I got four for twenty quid!!

Just another thing i also have Porsche written on the indicators which look very good indeed

I like the bling!!!!

Most definately the 997 turbo wheels. In fact I think they look much better on the 996 than on the 997. I do not like the first ones, very aftermarket.

Listen to my voice - You don't the want the black turbo wheels, the black turbo wheels don't suit your car, the Tech-arts are so much better, sell ME the unwanted black wheels ;-)

Real hard choice, have 19 inch Techarts on my wife's 996
Turbo and really like them, but got to say the 997 Turbo
wheels look great too.

What size tyres are you running on the rear ??
Have you had any clearance issues.
When 4 up in ours the tyres just want to catch
on the wings very slightly, but enough to need
looking at. Sure we have 315 25 19 Michelin
cheers
Al

Ive had no issues with the arches but the rears are 305, i think you are running to wide on the tryes at the back. Mine are standard 997 turbo wheels though they do make them for a narrow body. 964spedster I do like the Tech-arts but i have to agree somewhat with Rodney, they do look very aftermarket.

So Watlina.. does this mean you prefer the turbo wheels...?

Yes, I'm another one that's completely with Rodney on this. I think the 997 Turbo wheels just look right. To me they bring the 996 a bit closer to 2007 rather then the way the Tech-arts knock it back in to the 90's

The 997 Turbo wheel does seem to be quite a popular upgrade these days so if you want to be a bit different, have look at perhaps the HRE Monoblok series I like the P40 example but they all look good (then they should at about £1000 each)

Just incase anyones missed it, there's a set of 997TT wheels for sale in the members for sale section
