Hi guys,

Just joined as I'm thinking of rejoining the Porsche world with a 944 Turbo S as a weekend/fun/occasional track car. I've spent the last few weeks looking around and reading up on 944's... it appears that letting someone else spend the big money then buying a decently sorted car is the way to go rather than starting cheap. With this in mind I saw this:

and was wondering what the experts thought? [:)]

Cheers,

GD

Certainly worth a look - see if there is any photographic evidence of the body restoration.
A car that has been owned for 12 years with a receipted history for that time is a very good place to start looking, wish I had £7K!!
Good luck

Body work looks good no mention of mileage though? With good history mileage less of a worry but wonder why it's not mentioned? I'd be asking why it had a full respray just in case of accident damage (not that I'm suspicious) and finally why are there no pictures of the rear of the car?

Good to see cam and belts done recently as well - that's a good cost to have done when you buy it and also done 00 and 04 so well looked after I would say (not that I'm a 944 expert only just got one!).

It hasn't actually has much done mechanically except for routine maintenance in the last five years, when you look at it, though.

It could be a nice car, however. Much depends on the standard to which the bodywork was done - and that means what is under the paint, not how shiny the paint is. If there is a good photographic record of the restoration work, and it passes careful inspection, it could be a very tempting car.

But if you really want one that someone else has spent a lot of money on, then see here:

Like said before it would need more looking at to make a decision, not enough photos and those there are, are not too clear, history looks like normal maintenance with not much else, so maybe it is a good one but mileage would be nice to know then you can start to look at clutch life, suspension, engine longevity etc. Worth going for a look though price seems good for one supposedly that good.

Hi GD, if you're after a well-sorted fast-road/track car, with all the upgrades in place, then I think I may have what you're looking for! I will shortly be selling my 89 Turbo (due to impending house move) in black with the following major spec.... M030 factory sport package, KWV3 suspension, Half-cage, recently refurbed front brakes, 2 x corbeau sprint XL seats, 18" deep-dish cup alloys. Car has done 119k and just returned from a trip to the 'ring and spa without missing a beat. It's extremely capable on track yet still pliant and comfortable on the road. I'm on holiday at the mo so getting pics up might be a challenge, but if you look at my most recent threads you should be able to find some. Let me know if you're interested....

Ben

Both Ben's and the London one worth a look, my favourite colour for a 944, if you want to track it Ben's car sounds good to go ?
Ben have you bolted or welded the cage in ?

Hi Frenchy, the cage is bolted in and it has surprised me how much structural rigidity it seems to have added.... Car also has Luke 4-point harnesses, 968 caster mounts, stainless exhaust, 924 turbo vented badge panel, clear indicators all round......

This car has been on sale for ages. At least three or four years.
It started out for sale at £8000 when i called. He wouldn't budge on the price at all and was out of my league. He sent pictures and the car looked very well cared for.
