Optimistic boost gauge

I am new to this readable boost lark having had only the patter of tiny pinking pistons to inform me that my 924 is at 0.7 psi. My turbo cab boost gauge shows 2 bar at about 5500 rpm. It has some grunt all right but two bar can't be right can it?
 
Yep, 1 bar by gauge is atmospheric. Actual boost should be 1.82 by gauge or 0.82 over atmosphere, but they are not very accurate so it may well read close to 2 bar on full boost.
 
I actually found my in-dash guage to be surprisingly accurate compared with my additional boost gauge. The max boost reading is bob-on. It's just much more difficult to read due to the low resolution of the scale. Also when the boost bleeds off at higher RPM the needle is a bit jerky as the boost bleeds off rather than smooth as on my additional guage.
