Option code question

Hi all - I was hoping for some advice.

About six months ago I purchased a Boxster (MY08) from Porsche Centre Reading. I have finally got around to decoding the option codes for the car which has highlighted a discrepancy.

One of the codes is 446, which as far as I can make out is listed as "concave wheel cap with traditional coloured Porsche crest". The wheel caps that are on the car as supplied are black crests and completely flat.

Have I got grounds to approach Reading and question this, and am I likely to be entitled to have them replaced to those shown on the option codes?

The cars previous (and first owner) was an OPC - if that makes any difference.

Thanks in advance for any advice you can offer.

You could always try ....

If you have it on your bill of sale then your probably got a case.

However, it could be that the previously owner swapped then or indeed those cunning salesmen wanting you to buy a set.

I have to agree that unless the car was sold to you specifically with the coloured wheel centres as part of the deal or that the car was entirely original you might not have an argument. What I do understand about the coloured crest wheel centres is that the crests falls off quite a lot and if this happened to the previous owner they might have bought the cheaper replacements.

I don't understand the fasination for coloured wheel centres - the wheels (depending on design) on our cars set the car off really well - IMHO coloured centres distract from the clean lines of the wheels and car.

I think the answer will be you saw like it was sold to you. If you want Coloured wheel centres we can sell you some.

The standard wheel centers are black and only minimaly "concave" so they might appear "flat" unless you remove them.

The crest is painted on unlike the coloured wheel center sets where the crest is glued on and thus fall off from time to time - my OPC has kindly relaced them for free on each occasion but I have reverted to the standard ones which I agree look just as good!
