Option Codes '93 964/3.6T

Didn't really know where best to post this, but I will try here first.

I have been on Berny's VIN De-coder and all is well........however I cannot find a description for one of my options from Adrain Streather's - Enthusiast's Companion.

I'm ok with Country Code C16, Leather Steering wheel X26, Seat Heating left/right 139, 140, Sport Seat left/right 383, 387, Sliding Sun Roof 650.......but what is 740?

My 'original' Interior Code seems a bit a mystery also 'TF'. I can think a few things that would suit....totally #*!king awful ! but I guess that's is not correct,.. however accurate.

Any ideas?

Andrew,

Courtesy of Martin Lawrence (RS database) I discovered that Option 740 means the car was built as an exhibition car. Martin kindly sent me a copy of the letter from Porsche Cars to prove the point. If you look at the Options List on my site (here) you'll see it in the list.

Regards

Dave

BTW, the interior codes are impossible to decode. They relate to hundreds of optional items and no one has ever been able to produce a definitive list - including Adrian Streather.

Ah, an Exhibition Car that would be consistent with its past I guess; not to mention your "ready for my close up Mr Demille" reference eh Dave! [:D]

Thanks for your assistance on this.

Andy.

Ive delved into my boxes of notes and found that this car was destined for Japan ! Maybe it was used there for exhibition ? It should have
option M193 - version for Japan.
