Option Codes / Sticker

There is a paper label located in the rear of the car, on the back panel, facing forward. This shows the chassis number and according to Porsche Post (Jan 2004, page 129 - 130) shows the options (e.g. air con, leather etc) on that car. I'm currently looking to buy my first Porsche, a 944S2 and have only seen one so far, before I read the article. What I don't understand is the list of options is a full A4 size page, but the label on the car is not much bigger than a cigarette packet. What if you have most of the options?

Can anyone clarify if I've understood this correctly and how to compare the label to the codes?

Cheers,
Bryan

Each option has a 3-digit code and only they are on the sticker. You won't find a car with all the options in my experience, but even if you do the codes will fit because they are listed one after another like a sentence.

Also, the sticker is part of a computer printed roll of perforated sticky-back lables. At build the top lable is stuck to the bulkhead and any additional lables remain attached at the perforations.

Also that list contains the option codes for ALL Porsche at that time not just 944. For example option 505 is for a slant nose which obvioulsy refers to the 911 at the time. Most cars will only have about 7 or 8 options on their sticker.
