i'm going to see a 99T on sat and want to know where the factory options sticker is and what the numbers mean, thanx.

The options sticker should be on the underside of the front boot lid. (If it is not, then ask why? - it might indicate a repair has been done...)
A copy of the sticker is also in the front of the Guarantee and Maintenance booklet (the one with the service stamps in).

There is a version of an "Option Decoder" here -> http://www.kindel.com/porsche/options.asp

There are others available, a search on www.google.com should locate most of them.

Be aware that codes are used across the Porsche range, (030 is sports suspension in all Porsche models), so some may sound a bit odd on the decoder, and a little logic may be needed to work out what they really mean.
Some codes get reused - those beginning with "X" for instance are "Exclusive" option codes, and these often get re-used on different models for different things.

Hi Mark,

I picked up my 987 from OPC West London on Good Friday (advised yourself and Sarah at Club Office of usual changes in vehicle) but no Options Sticker under the bonnet!

From the 'VIN' number I am aware that the car was assembled in Finland (with 'U' designation), so don't know if this makes a difference, and without digging up an issue that I think has been debated in the past, do you think that this is really essential or should I be comfortable with all the usual options/OPC stamps in the Guarantee & Maintenance booklet?

Interested in your view as the car will be in next week to have the the 'stone chip guards' (clear acetate just in front/below the side air scoops) replaced as some wet tyre dressing after having the car washed and valeted spun off the wheels onto the bodywork, and whilst this satisfactorily lifted off the bodywork with a little polish, it actually stained the stone chip guards and they will have to be replaced!!

If necessary, I will get them to address the bonnet sticker whilst it is in.

Thanks,

Mark

[&o]Yes Mark its still in the Guarantee & Maintenance booklet until they can figure a more cost effective alternative :ROFLMAO:

I can't guarantee this but I believe that the options/vin sticker is in more than one place and whilst they may have removed the one under the bonnet the other one may still exsist. The down side........ it, if it exsists is behind the rear bumper on the closing/back panel. I seem to remember being told this on a factory tour. As this was at least 15 months ago I could very easily be wrong.
