Hello all

Just on the off chance, here's a quick question.

Any one familiar with this car for sale in the North West

Has it belonged to anyone on here? K274 UCU

May go and have a look at it tomorrow

Cheers

It's a 1993 car and it's on the Register with the current owner. I can't believe orange is the original colour but I don't know anything else I'm afraid.

Regards

Dave

Well I did a quick check and found the following

This registration has been subject to a colour change (so clearly is not original [:D] )

The last recorded change of keeper occurred on 6 Aug 2005

This registration was recorded as a Category D write-off on 14 Oct 2002 ( I suppose that depends on how bad it was??? )

If anyone else knows any other info please drop me an e mail

The colour is really growing on me the more I look at the piccies [:D]

Cheers

The price is very good [;)]. I would say the dealer selling it is more used to selling more recent Porsche models. I would definitely get a ppi because with nearly 150K on the clock there could be some big bills lurking underneath the skin.

Lee. it's local to me and I have already been to look at it a couple of times...!

Its a Cat D but inspected approved.

Has a lot of invoices with it inc top end rebuild by JZM 3 or 4 yrs ago and new clutch 3 yrs ago - only done 5000 miles since.

However,  the respray in that RS orange looks ok from around 30 yards away in the dark with your eyes shut - up close it is a truly shocking paint job, with the old blue colour showing through on panel edges and more orange peel than a satsuma!

I could have lived with that for a while if I was confident that the repairs had been done well, but the drivers door trailing edge curvature does not match the leading edge of the rear wing and there is evidence of bubbling under that 'lovely' new paintwork on the edges of the front wings, the rear kidney bowl area and at the base of the front screen - usual 964 areas really!

It sounds great with the cup pipe and underneath the engine appears dry, which is very rare for a 964, although as this is a late '93 car, it will have the gasket seals for the barrels so should be drier as a result, before the top end rebuild.

I had a bit of a haggle with the seller on the proviso that it went to Jonny at Unit 11 for an inspection.

I was thinking of an RS alike conversion, but the base car needs a lot of work/money on the shell and that is putting me off tbh!

Give me bell and we can talk about what I have checked - will send you some pics I took on my phone too[;)]

Cheers for that Nick.

May still have a little peek anyway after I have been to Unit 11.

Catch you later

Lee
