Orange indicators front and sides

Gents I've been looking for a complete set of the S2/Turbo front indicator covers and the side repeater lenses in orange (car has clear and I want to go back to standard).

The prices on the new items and also some second hand ones that I've seen on eBay are ridiculous. Any ideas of the best source please?

Ian

New indicators certainly used to be so cheap that I wouldn't consider anything else. Have you tried your local OPC?

I bought a pair of Front indicator lenses from OPC and they weren't expensive

As said by Ruddy the side ones are the same as a MK2 Golf but again they aren't expensive for genuine from OPC and they come with new gaskets.

I search ebay eu "Porsche 968" most mornings, and I often see a Spanish seller auctioning new orange side repeaters with a starting bid of 1p.

How expensive is expensive? With seals (which would need replacing the lens units I have replaced) they were around £20 a side from an OPC or here:

Considering with knackered sealts that the units themselves can go (which are now expensive and tricky to maintain (they were made in batches) I would say they are reasonable :).

Paul feels pressured to repeat himself, yet again! [:D]

First, Porsche. Always, always check the price with a PC, preferably one like Glenn at Leicester who supports the model. Do a check for alternative parts on the FAQ and ask on the forum of course, just in case it's off a Golf. [:)]

Second, check specialists for new prices.

Then, have a look for new parts on Ebay.

Lastly, and only if it's the last option, look for used parts.

If that's not the order in which you shop, you're at risk of wasting money. £40 on ebay for a cassette hinge that's 25 years old, or £9 for a new one from Porsche? [8|]

Glenn from Leicester is swinging by Rutland water at the weekend to see "the gathering",good opportunity to ask any parts questions.

Compare that with the average ebay seller. Where would you prefer to ask first for a price? [:)]

Sounds like he needs to bring a laptop loaded with his Parts prices

It wouldn't be a bad idea for him to post here? I don't know how that sits with Porsche, but I can't see an issue with him replying with the PC retail price when a question like this is asked? [:)]

I have just bought a pair of side repeaters for my 993 (which I believe are the same as those for the 944) from Eurocarparts for the grand sum of £2.80 for the pair, delivered.

They are aftermarket but appear exactly the same as the original Porsche ones and come with the seals and bulb holders.

They are not listed for the 944 which is strange but here is the link for the 993:

Anyone confirm these do fit the 944?

Golf mk2, 944 and 993 all using the same parts bin?
Yes they will definitely fit a 944, I'm about to order a pair for my 968!

I feel bad I have just binned a pair of them because I didn't think any one would want standard orange every one wants clear..

funny enough.. I was only looking at my 944 that has orange ones and was thinking I should get some clear ones.. just about every VW golf owner must have loads of orange ones in their tool box!

I got my front ones from Richard after bumping into him in the local plumbers merchant car park. I commented on his car and ended up round his house buying parts

Has anybody who purchased a set of these had any success at fitting them?

I went to fit a pair today & the plastic they've used is so hard & brittle the clip snapped clean off when trying to press it into the wing, as my Mother would say "You only get what you pay for!"
