Original Price difference C2 vs C4?

I was just wondering what the original cost difference was between the C2 and C4 in the varioram incarnation?
They seem to fetch much the same these days but the C4 obviously has a lot more going on under the bonnet.

ORIGINAL: dyllan

not a lot then!!

Yes, and you can see how the difference gets squeezed with the propotion of buyers who use them for tracking being higher with older cars (the C2 being reputedly better than the C4 on track).

But on the wet in Scotland the C4 was what I wanted (no idea if I was right...)

I don't think there was a 2S that year, but here are some others:

4S - £74795
RS - £68495
TT - £93950

I have the price list in pdf format, so if you'd like a copy of the whole thing, drop me an email.

You are joking of course - they're the same (engines)[;)].

Incidentally, I know what I would have gone for (rather than a 4S) given the chance in 1995...
If, as you say the prices were:

4S - £74795, but
RS - £68495

Bargain at only 6 grand more than a basic C4!

Ah, but that's with the benefit of 20:20 hindsight. [;)][;)].

At the time, you would probably have said "I'm not paying 10 grand more than a standard C2, and get less goodies"! [8|] [8|]

I don't think so. The RS would always be worth more in real terms[:D]. I reckon that would have been obvious even then.
The other point would be the comparison to a 4S at £74,795 (over 6 grand more[8|]) as well!

All academic, of course, as I couldn't have bought one then anyway, unfortunately[:(].
Just fortunate enough to have what I've got[:D].[:D]
