OT - clutch remote reservoir

Morning all

I hope the moderators dont mind but when I had my 944T it had a remote clutch reservoir.

Lots of parts are interchangeable with early Golfs

I want to convert mine to a remote brake reservoir as the new 2.0L 16v ABF engine dizzy is very close to the static reservoir. I will reroute the pipe and refit the reservoir 180 degrees and get over it that way but even then the cap will be impossible to remove without physically removing the reservoir which is a pain even though it doesnt need to be removed all that often.

So................does the 944 remote reservoir hose fit onto a screw in or push in union on the top of the clutch master cylinder? The Golf one simply pushes into two grommets directly onto the cylinder.

If its a push in union, does anyone have a dodgy old spare (master cylinder or grommet/union) they could send me (happy to pay postage) so I can experiment?

Alternatively, does anyone know of a way to convert this type of m/c to a remote pipe junction?

Morning ! I know from having recently replaced my Master and Slave Clutch cylinders that the Master cylinder has a push fit feed from the fluid reservoir, it's a short angled (~ 45 degrees)piece of plastic. I think I kept the new one as the old one had the blue feed pipe already connected.

I'll have a look in the garage this evening, and comeback to you !

Thanks Chris

I assumed it might be a push fit as the inlet end of the pipe into the cylinder has to point in a certain direction (unlikely if threaded with an angled pipe)

I hope the push fit grommet is the same as on mine, if so.......................bingo [8D]

Waits in anticipation.....................................[;)]
