Oulton Friday Night Reminder

I had a call from esteemed kettle peddler Mr Andy Tims who could find no record of this event on the forum and needed a reminder [;)]

The venue is Chetwode Arms , Street Lane (off A49) Lower Whitley Cheshire WA4 4EN and hoping to get bums on seats for 730 ish

If you need any more info feel free to ask me tomorrow at Oulton!

Booked a pit garage to share with Chris Whittle, Kevin Asbridge and Steve Brookes. [:)]

I've PM'd you all - if you can't make it then perhaps another of the '64RS clan would care to join us? [8|]

Briefing starts 0840hrs - and the doors will be locked to latecomers [] (2nd briefing at 1000hrs for the slackers, sleep-ins and people from the real world!). [;)]

Kettle, coffee, teabags (especially for Kev), etc at the ready and the Mrs is currently baking some cakes for us to tide us over until the Chetwode. See you there [:)]

Note for those travelling from the M56 to OP in the morning....there are roadworks on the A49 between the M56 and A556 which are very busy between 7 am and 9 am. To avoid them use the A556 and then turn on to the A49 to OP.

Yep, I'll be there and have booked at The Happy Guests Lodge --- which I hope is within staggering distance [;)]

Thanks Steve, so I'll continue South down the M6 one extra junction to junction 19, and then West on the A556 as far as the A49 --- which if my memory serves me correctly, is where the Shell petrol station is ?

Spot on Chris [:)]

And there are about three speed cameras on that stretch of the A556 (2 x 60 mph and 1 x 40 mph iirc)

Have fun guys . Really wish i could be there but gotta work sometime. Post lots of pics won't you. I'd hate to think of you all enjoying yourselves and me not being able to see[:(][:D]

Can't post any pics today but sure someone will be along soon with some.

I was very pleased with the turn out at the Chetwode. Thanks to all those that made the effort to come , especially the gang of southerners led by Nick Moss that had to leave the home comforts of the Alvanley Arms for the evening ....
We got 19 bums on seats and a guest appearance from local celebrity Tim Arnold as a bonus - cheers Tim ! [:D]

Thanks for organizing John. The food was excellent and the Jennings very smooth. [:)] How odd that the only major accident of the day happened when Chris broke the dinner table! [:D]

Some nice paddock pics here:

And managed to step out beneath it without the beer flooding my crotch ...

Luck, or Panic ? [:D]

John, a fab venue, thankyou.

And big thanks to Tim for the lift back to The Happy Guests Lodge --- sounds like I'm back in Nepal [;)]

Steve, did I tell you that two years ago I spent all my time being Blue Flagged ?

I was so intimidated, --- a great incentive to improve [;)]

But to answer your question --- I thought the courtesy shown on track by all was exemplary. So no, you certainly were never a nuisance to me, --- please come "tangle" again [:D]

Delighted you all enjoyed the meal, a thousand apologies from me, my wife got stuck at the University and did not return home to me and the offspring until 9:00pm which made it too late to travel from Chester in time for eats - next time I will leave my phone switched off!

Thanks to John for organising - for those of us unlucky enough to be missing Spa when's the next one!

Cheers,
Kevin.

Great night, good to meet old friends and new! Thanks to everyone for the passenger rides. I managed to get out in a few different cars. I promise to bring one along next year!!!

Thanks to Steve for Tea and cake - just what I needed after all the passenger rides. I have a few pics, which I'll pull out in a bit....
