Still some spaces left and can split to a half day ....am I going to be the only 964RS there putting in practice for Oct RS day ????
Ok so it is midweek but the track is one of the best anywhere and a good drive for our cars in particular with enough twisties to keep the kettles and turbos honest [:D]

Am looking for a garage space to rent within London tube area , pref west or north , and a non-garage queen GT3 Clubsport Mk1 or even another 964RS to keep in it if anyone knows of any ? [8|]

John,
In at 9m on Tues for leaky lower rocker covers.
May be able to make the pm session depending on work commitments, will let you know soonest,
Regards,
Kevin
PS Any ideas on the lottery nos for Saturday - assume you have had a big win ;-)

May make it to afternoon session if work goes to plan. If not I'll have to wait till October.[&o]

Hi Matt and Kevin , good to hear from you ! Hope you can both make the afternoon session , and that the good weather holds out. There are some other Porsches there but a lot of the entry list is 'non web booking' so cannot identify who / what. The afternoons are normally best as :

1. anyone who was going to crash has probably already done so in the morning ;

2. it goes quiet after 4pm as people from down south start to take their chances on the M6 run home [:D]

Matt , my car was first registered in Italy too (Bologna) and lived there from 1995 to 2000 until 'freed' by Thomas S.

Kevin , no lottery win but I spend over half my time in London and need to do track days down south / on continent while continuing to keep my 964RS up north.
Kids no longer soak up surplus cash , too old to pose 'n' cruise in latest flash motors , only sense in having sports car is to get adrenaline fixes in non speed regulated environment ! Its not going to get any easier going forward with goverment regulation , noise abatement , cost of fuel , etc etc so the money I got from selling off the 997C2S earlier this year will be recycled into track dog + kennel .

I'll be there for the afternoon session in my C2 along with Ricardo in his GT3.

I just hope all those 'non-web bookings' aren't those blasted fun cup cars that are often at Oulton! [8|]

Well , the brake dust has settled , or rather several showers here in the NorthWest have washed away any dust that may have settled....
So yes , I was the only 964RS at Oulton , the venue that Derek Bell , friend of Des , has compared to the old F1 Nurburgring . Hope the lack of leichtbau is not the beginning of a trend .
There were no 993RSs (as might have been predicted) , but several GT3's of the normal and RS variety . Some had come down from Scotland as well as up from Home Counties , good to see the enthusiasm and commitment to hammering what is an expensive car by any standards .The 996GT3RS's were particularly well driven by seasoned owners , there was only one 997GT3RS in evidence and being driven a bit cautiously but not so much that I could get past it.
Met up with brksy16 , there in white 964 , turns out he actually lives in my village in NW !!!!! amazing , goes to different pub tho' so that explains why not encountered before now.
Turned out that the 'non web bookings' on the easytrack website were corporate rent-a-car drivers and also novice drivers of racing beetles , which provided a bit of Porsche related interest , at least one beetle (No 146) , a single seater , was piloted with some skill , being on track with it felt like being on the set of 'Herbie goes bananas'.

In the absence of other 964RSs driven by better drivers ,and forever giving way to the RS kettles , I had to battle with
Lotus Exige with no mirrors, Honda Accord Type R on slicks , specced-up Nissan Skylines, Evos , Imprezas etc. The best lapping was actually with a brace of Ultima 4.7 Chevys , starting in front of them but gradually losing out because of my lack of talent to exploit corners and lack of significant power combined with weight disadvantage. I had to allow first one then the other past , but did not allow them to disappear off....

School report - pupil improving , still too hard on brakes [:)]
Hope to see rest of class in October [:D]

Nice to meet you John, I'll look out for you in the Bull if we ever get a nice summer evening to wander down the canal towpath to the heart of the village in search of refreshment. [;)]

You may not have noticed but there was a third aircooled on track - a guard's 3.2. However, I can only remember seeing him venture out once so maybe all was not well with it on the day [&o]
