Not knowing anything about Oulton (as this was my 1st time properly driving it - previous time was years ago with a sick car, so did about 10 laps), I don't know if 1.58 is a respectable or pish lap time?

you might be surprised at the weather - the morning turned out great yesterday - was down with messrs Gungho and Turbo and it stayed dry until about 2pm - by that time I was knackered and glad of the excuse to go home..

It wasn't a "shut the door", it was the "normal line" - you take the same line as me if you look closely....its the one spot where in the briefing they said "the normal line here is to go far right and cut left for a late apex, don't be tempted to dive up the inside"...but of course, (grand)faither wasn't listening and takes his own lines ...to be fair, I didn't think he'd try to take me there, so wasn't looking.....made for good video though!ORIGINAL: 996_STEVO
I like the "SHUT THE DOOR" move at 1:38... did you miss a gear at 2:34 Greig?, he nearly rammed it right up yir ass!
and yes, missing gears continually from 3rd to 4th (which in my car is the most used change) - so need to get the engine out and selector forks unbent!
If you look at my first video from earlier, you can see gordon in my rear view mirror at that point

oh, and melv - for the extra day are you man enough to let non-porsche's in....or at least members of PCGB? Or if I book on for my 996 but it mysteriously has engine issues the day before, can I bring the westfield? [8D]

Actually, just looked at the footage - that was the point I was lifting off to let him past - just in my car the indicator is a wee switch that you've got to be a contortionist to work, so I tend to get the steering wheel straight, lift off, and then sometime later I indicate......[]ORIGINAL: 996_STEVO
