Oulton Park this Saturday 3 July. GTs and Porsches

R5 could come on the Unoffical Cayman run round Derbyshire in the morning and then go to Oulton Park in the afternoon? That'd be fun....

Its a two hour run back - the scenery would be great and you can choose to go over Woodhead or the M62...

 
Since they are allowing spectators to the race meeting at Oulton Park this weekend, it seems a good opportunity to go to my first race meeting of the year. It will be good to see how it is organised under current restrictions.

Is anyone else attending?

Good afternoon John,

I hope that you are well.

As Dave (Twinfan) has mentioned there are a group of us from R5 heading over to Oulton Park on Saturday. We are meeting at the Shell petrol station in Chelford at 9:30am if you would like to join us for a convoy to Oulton.

Either way, I hope to catch up with you at some point.

Thanks Martin. I think I had better plan to meet you there as I am vulnerable to traffic problems on M62 and around Manchester. I should be able to spot your and Dave's cars, especially if they are parked together.

I'm heading there separately John, so you may be better off just looking out for Martin's. Miami Blue with red brake calipers is quite distinctive, as is his name related reg number [;)]

I've booked tickets and plan to join you there about 11.00 ish- I'm sure I'll find Martin's car without too many problems!

I would have loved to have joined you but am going to OPC Stockport for their open day as I only have an AM pass.

I found Martin’s car, but not Martin! It was a good first event of the year to attend, albeit a damp start. Lots of access restrictions but Oulton is good for viewing from the hills and embankments. Good to see so many Caymans in the car parks, as well as those on the track!

Sorry I missed you, it was a good day and nice to see so many Porsches at Oulton Park.

I hope that we can meet up at another event soon.
