Its the just about the last PCGB track day of the season oop North , is anyone going along to it ?
I'm going along to spectate & maybe passenger ride but wont be able to drive following recent major surgery....have had to cancel Goodwood , Castle Coombe and Donington already this year so pretty disgruntled []. Still some weeks off driving the (LHD non power assisted ) black RS but allowed to pootle about in 'electric everything /power assisted kettle ' ( silver 997S) [:D].
Hope to see some of you there !

Not an RS but I'll be there presuming I finish my pads and fluid change tomorrow (thanks for the Eezibleed tip chaps that's in RS Gulp's topic further down).

See you there [:)]

Will be there - only trackday this year - hope the weathers as good as last year!

Tony

I plan to be there, although I'm taking the SC rather than the RS as I want more track time in the car. You're very welcome to a few passenger laps if you want.

All,
I'll be there, in the 964RS (Toyo888) if it looks like being dry and the CSL if it's p*****g down (sensible tyres).
Cheers,
Kevin.

Fabulous day today and great to see at least four 964RSs out in their natural environment and turned out so beautifully. Caught up with Kevin for a quick chat to say hellow and to find out his thoughts on the Toyos (very impressed). I thought about tapping up one of you guys for a lift round but decided it might make my C2 feel inadequate henceforth[8D]

Hope you all enjoyed, I certainly did, Oulton is just a great place for track adrenaline[:)]

Steve,
You should have said!, would have been more than happy to take you out for a few laps.

As you say I really like the Toyos, they are noisy on the road but so what ;-) by the end of the day Iwas really leaning on them and the break away is SO predictable and progressive given all the weight in the back.

Also reminded me that power is not everything, got back in the CSL this morning and yes it is really quick, but does not talk to me like the RS does - where is the magic?

Great to meet, let me know if you fancy an amble into North Wales sometime,
Cheers,
Kevin.

A great day out at Oulton , the rain held off and the track did dry out after a damp and slippy start. not being able to drive meant I could wander around and meet up with some new faces [:)]
I was lucky enough to have a wide range of passenger rides :-
Andy Jefferies got the ball rolling in his dark blue 997S tip , making smooth progress round Oulton's sinuous curves , with some interesting gear selection when changing down on auto.....Andy soon took over responsibility for this [8|]

Next up was Kevis Asbridges 'ferrai yellow' 964RS , again good lines taken round the circuit paying respect to the damp conditions , the Toyo R888s had plenty of grip once things dried out a bit.

Back to the current model RS in Steve Taylor's flymo orange 997 GT3RS , a very fast and smooth car and the first full harness laps of the day. It looked pretty easy from the passsenger seat , the only other car keeping pace in our session was a red 944 style Turbo called ' Dave Stockton ' , not an easy car to follow for those of a nervous disposition but good entertainment !
In the afternoon Tim Barber gave me a run out in his 3.0 SC , a road going race car, and we circulated with some spirited 964RS's , a yellow one piloted by 'Big Dave' ( special friend of Des) and the Maritime blue car of Adrian Rowlands ( of Judgement Day fame ) . I was wearing a harness but really needed a rosary to pray with or at least some worry beads to take my mind off the movement of the car through the corners as Tim demonstrated his car control skills.....good luck in the Speed Championships next year Tim [;)]

Finally I got strapped into Adrian's car for the last 10 minutes of the day , an experience somewhere between the 3.0SC and the GT3RS for passenger excitement. Can't wait to get back into my own 964RS [:D]

Finally good to see Tony Careys red 964RS ....the Highlanders Gordon Campbell 996GT3RS and Raymond Boydie Boyd 911RS.... plus the locals Johnny Probert 'too clean to drive' 993RS and Stuart Speed ' Des-alike' mint green 964RS Clubsport .....and not so local Ken Lowe 'driven up from Cardiff !! ' in another speed yellow 993RS......
here's to March 2008 at Oulton - get signed up for it !!

John

Sorry to have given you a bit too much excitement in the SC. It was jus too much fun chasing those 64RSs.[:D]

The starter motor problem I had turned out to be a siezed bearing in the ignition switch, which needed stripping, lubrication and reassembly - so cheaper than a new starter motor![:)]

yes, good day ,nice and dry for watching, wish the cars would go a bit slower so my camera could keep up!
