Out with the old, in with the new

987 at last!

As I sold my 986 privately I had the opportunity, a first for me, to photograph my old and new cars side by side. This showed many of the subtle changes not immediately apparent when they are seen independently. As they used to ask in the Beano, can you spot all the differences?

As I only collected the car late this afternoon I've only managed about 30 miles, but the improvements are obvious as soon as you overtake or nip into a tight corner. Handling is so much improved, and all the controls seem to have been nudged into their natural places. Only time will tell, but a permanent smile is my early verdict.

However, PCM will probably require a month's intensive study - and lots of practice. [:)]

I have many more photos - perhaps I will try to put some in the gallery.

I bought the plate from the DVLC at 8.03 am on 1st December, the morning the 05s were released, for £1,299. Yes, I know, I must be mad - but as Porsche extras go I didn't think it was too bad.

Wow, that's beautiful, and I love the plate. I've only just got my car, which looks just like your old one, but I want to upgrade already.

Nice car Brian, just seen a new Boxster today in the same colour and it really did look the part.

Plate was a bargain and car looks great ...happy motoring and I hope to be joining the 987 Club this Friday after 6 long Boxsterless months can't wait to be reunited with "The best sports car in the world" once again [8D]Roll On Sunny Days

The exact spec is 2.7 manual, seal grey metallic, stone leather seats
wind deflector, 18" S wheels with crested centres, park assist
climate control, cruise control, heated seats, multi-function steering wheel
PCM, homelink, Origin b2 (GPS camera locator)
£39,238 + plate - gulp!

To my surprise I am getting lots of reaction to the plate. If anyone queries the spelling I just tell them I'm dyslexic!

Beautiful car Brian[8D]

Note to all getting new/replacing cars:
