Oval dash LED bulbs

In all due respect i beg to differ, the ones i sourced are wide angle and provide an excellent light spread !!!!
The Flamingeye kit looks a superb product, but i feel these are a cheaper alternative.

The difference with the Flamingeye kit and just putting LEDs in is that Darren produced a complete replacement for the silver reflectors which lose their coating over time. It isn't actually the bulbs that are weak if your dash doesn't illuminate properly, it's the reflectors that have deteriorated. I don't have the Flamingeye kit because my reflectors are still quite good so I don't need it.

My reflectors were in pretty good condition too so i guess a proviso is LEDs are good if your reflectors are in good condition,if they are not opt for the Kit or refurbish them yourselves.

Perhaps the ones I tested about 2 years ago did not have a wide enough angle ...

I did a lot of comparative tests (across both 944's) with 3 / 5 and even 10w bulbs against LED sources as well. The 10W bulbs were too bright and even the 5W bulbs were a significant improvement after a lot of time was spent working on the plastic 'projectors' http://www.cannell.co.uk/944%20Turbo%20-%2011.htm however, the projectors soon went 'milky' again.

I've since swapped to the flamingeye kit (both 944s) as it does not deteriorate. It expensive, but it works well.

I have no connection with Flamingeye - just independent tests.

Glad you're looking at alternatives - the more independent sources and data the better [:)]
