Oxygen sensor

goto www.forestfine.co.uk and have a look. They do original Bosch ones as they are on your car for a lot less money. They were so cheap I bought 2 and changed both sides even though only 1 was duff.

The ones I put on my Boxster (same system as my 996) were £17 each (and it was a pig of a job getting them out, had to take it round to a friendly garage who used his oxyacetylene and a lot of leverage...). £200 quid is probably an hours labour (£100), the part and VAT.

Unfortunately not Paul. It is being suggested that exhaust will need to come off so 200 labour plus 200 for part. I thought this sounds pricey so have requested clarification.

I need to buy a error code reader for my car as this would obviously tell me which one is at fault.

FWIW, a Bosch sensor for a '97 Boxster (probably the same for all cars till 2004 though I would have to check) is £75 from ECP. Are they changing both of them? No independents in Dublin...?

Yes, that is the price I have seen too in multiple places (in fact I've also seen cheaper) so I have made contact with independent and will be moving forward with that as well as asking Porsche to double check their quote.

update: price confirmed by Porsche - 200 labour and 200 per sensor. Awaiting reply from independent.
