PA1000 remote problems

I have a PA1000 which is not always very good at responding to being plipped and often takes several attempts for it to work. Once I was stuck by the side of the road for about 20 minutes before it decided to respond. Is there a solution?

Another point: I have two remotes, one is larger and has a red LED light and is the one that I normally use. I have a second smaller one that has the Porsche name on it and then below the buttons 'Security System'. This has not worked since I bought the car nearly 18 months ago, and which I attributed to a flat battery. I have replaced the battery and it still doesn't work. I got out the red master remote, which works, to see if the smaller remote needed to be reconnected having not been in use for a long time. Having made numerous attempts at a connection nothing happens. Again is there something I am missing? Is the smaller remote one that is normally used with the PA1000?

Any help would be appreciated.

Ring up Hamilton & Palmer - 01732 760022. I rang them at start of year & they were really helpfull with my PA2000 alarm...Good luck..
 
Normally either the battery or its bust... You can get additional fobs from H&P... I have also converted my PA1000 manual and uploaded it to [link=http://www.big-man.co.uk/downloads/PA1000_System.pdf]http://www.big-man.co.uk/downloads/PA1000_System.pdf[/link] which may be of use. Regards Adam.
 
Thank you for the replies. Adam, many thanks for the pdf, I have the same instruction leaflet and have followed it to the letter to no avail. The larger one on the right works OK, it is the lefthand one that I am having trouble with. I have replaced the battery but since there is no LED light on the small fob, I cannot tell if it is working. NSM

I had same problem, but when I talked to H&P they said instructions were wrong for reprogramming remotes for the later version of the PA1000. The bit that tells you to "wait 2 seconds" is wrong. He told me to just press/release the raised button 4 times (at that point in the instructions). That worked for me. (I also don't get the beeps - but my system never beeps when you arm/disarm[:)]) Hope this helps
