PA1000 Wiring Diagram?

I'm posting here because I think the PA1000 was fitted to most 993s.

I've just bought a 3.2 Carrera with one fitted. Does anyone have a connection/wiring diagram?

The problem I have is that the alarm goes off every time I lock it with the remote, and the system shows the ultrasonic sensors to be causing the alarm condition. (5 LED flashes). I have tried disabling the ultrasonics in the mode settings, with no success, so I would like to unplug them from the control unit, to see if it is a sensor fault or control unit fault. Trouble is, I don't know which is the connector for the sensors.

Thanks

My PA1000 has a separate small black box the sonics plug in to. Your one may/may not be the same, as it seems there were a fair few revisions to the system over it's time.

This box also has a sensitivity trim screw which you could try first before completely disabling them.

Failing that as Maurice says just call H&P

Thanks guys.

I spoke to H&P and they told me to disconnect the ultrasonic box by unplugging the 4-pin plug, which I did but the alarm still goes off reporting the ultrasonics as the fault. This means there is a problem with the main circuit board in the PA1000 unit, so I haven't much alternative other than to replace it.

The board, with a new red remote and one black remote is now £180+VAT+carriage, so I've bitten the bullet and ordered one. If anyone needs to contact H&P, the chap to speak to is Jim, but he only works Tuesdays and Thursdays. They were extremely helpful, and very pleasant people to deal with.

Maurice - I wouldn't say that the 996T is bland, but the 3.2 is such a hoot and sounds just like a proper sports car should.

Now if someone could just explain the heater controls, which are a total mystery......... Sorry - wrong forum for that! [;)]

Hi Richard

Glad you got that sorted - I'd echo your comments about Jim and H&P. I've had cause to call them a couple of times over the years and they are always really helpful and a great source of 993 alarm parts.

Regards
Anton

H&P are the only ones with the knowledge on 993 remotes as they supplied the kit to dealers to fit. I don't know what will happend when Jim retires as he has a wealth of knowledge.

For info anyone with an early 993 it was fitted with a pre PA1000 remote. If this fails H&P do a replacement control box and two remotes for about 120 quid. I replaced mine, simple swap the connector over and it works perfectly
