PA2000 Alarm problems since flat battery - Help!

Hi all.
Basically havnt been using the car enough recently, sad I know. Battery went flat in alarmed state I think. Disconnected battery, put on charge. On reconnection to the car, the alarm starts to go off like crazy & wont demobolise with the key fobs. (PA 2000 alarm)
I've then disconnected the battery again, put the keys in the ignition with it switched on, connected the battery, the ignition display lights etc come on with the alarm going off.
Has any body experienced this ? What do i do to cure it, many thanks for your help...Think an optimate could be req'd for Xmas once this issue is sorted.

Cheers & thanks in advance.

Silly question, but why don't you switch off the alarm itself. Its the little black box on the left hand side of the engine compartment..... you should have a small key to fit into the lock, turn it and the alarm won't sound..... but whether it still lets you start the engine etc I don't know.

cheers

There isnt a slot for a key as far as im aware, when you have alook in the engine lid, theres just a red cap from memory on the black box & thats it...Certainly have no key for the alarm. All im aware i have is 2keys for the car & the main master red one.!!?

Stuart, can you take off or open the Red cap, if you can, you may find a lock.... where the original key is, sounds like another problem.

I had a 97 2S, with a black alarm box, with a black cover and key.

96 "4" with a PA1000 has black box with black key cover. But the alarm should not be sounding if you connect the battery and they "unlock" with a remote (it will sound until you click the remote).

Like Maurice suggests - phone Hamilton and Palmer - very helpful on phone when I could not work out how to program new remote.

Sorry to hear about the alarm problem.
I've got a C4S with a PA2000 alarm and had the same problem as yours a couple of years ago. I had to get hold of Hamilton & Palmer to sort it out; unfortunately, I had to have the alarm and fobs recoded - so had to send them back to H&P. They did it for £45 (or about that) and reconditioned the fobs; they were very quick and got the lot back to me within a few days - brilliant service from them! The fiddly bit is getting to the alarm cicuit board - but H&P can tell you where it is and how to get to it, if you fancy having a go. If you want any details about getting to it, drop me an email and I can run through how i did it - its not too hard.

I hope you get it sorted out soon!

Peter
