Pads / Oil

Just about to have the 964 serviced. Any recommendations for oil and brake pads. The car has standard brakes but will have the occassional track day use. I also have an RS clutch and flywheel that I bought with the car. Is this a bit of an overkill for road use and will I find it too noisy or is it worth fitting for the advantages it gives.

For occasional track day use stock pads will be perfectly adequate. It almost seems automatic that people automatically go for aftermarket pads when often they are not better than stock pads for street/fast road/occasional trackday use. In fact aftermarket pads are generally a PITA. I've used a couple now and they are rubbish when cold, squeal, chew discs up, some create loads of corrosive dust and are generally not better than stock pads for street use. Your money is much more wisely spent on making sure your stock braking system is tickety boo (no caliper plate lift, lines are in good nick etc.) and using a decent brake fluid.
 
agree - i run big reds but stuck with OE pads for a while, and do on sprints, but now on track use pagid blues.

oil - i run Silkolene ProR 15-50 and brake fluid ATE superblue...
