Pagid Brake Pads

Can anyone advise which is the best pad for road use?By "best" I mean:good cold performance, bite, feel and fade resistence. According to Motorsportworld the choice is:

Fast Road(Dark Blue)Cheaper, not likely to be much better than OE pads
RS 4-2-1 (Black)Good performance
RS4-2 (Blue)Better than Black but at risk of some noise

Thanks,

Why would u want them for road use???????? They will squeal to some degree watever u do and it gets damned annoying .........................harder u go of course the quicker you will eat the discs and above all to be effective they need to reach varying higher temperatures .....................which all leads back to why have them for road use?

Pagid black / fast road pads don't squeal too much during raod use, but for that the OEM pads are easiliy up to the job.

I have always run my RS on OE pads and regardless of choice of circuit,or how hard I push on ,the standard pads are very good and have never shown any signs of fade.
If under these arduous track conditions OE pads perform well ,why would you need to use Pagid Race Items on the road ???[8|]

Vic,
I'm getting confused! In your post of 12/4/04 under"Brake disc upgrade" after I explained that car was only used on road, you seemed to be recommending Pagids.

Regards,

Paul

It depends under what conditions ...........for road ,as some of the others said ,i would use [do use ]standard OE kit discs and pads ......................have experimented for track days and finally with modified GT2 ,trashing discs too often went to Porsche Motorsport Discs and Pagid blues for overall cost effect was amazing ...............i am hitting IRO 170 MPH on the Lavant and stopping to turn right needs a bit of effort.......................at Donnington even on the National Circuit i have never had fade of any sort or a spongy pedal as long as the 'kit 'is warmed up and coooled down sensibly .....................but for roadworrk personally believe its just overkill........................having said all this i bought a 993 clubsport recently set up on ordinary discs ,black pagids ,air sccops and piping left it as it was ...................first time out in anger at Oulton Park was brilliant ,i dont have unlimited funds and so would nt change just for the sake of it ,and i guess what i amtrying to say is for road work ABSOLUTELY no need to uprate ................there is a pad i ve not used that sheds less dust is a different story.....................good luck just enjoy the car .............

From a man with 2 Porkas and a bike ,thats rich! Must go back to the pool.................c u on 12 th can show u my tan !!!!!

Paul took the time to find original thread and i meant ,i thought clearly, that OE was fine for road and most track days......................certainly would nt wish to be ambiguous and the stufff abt Pagids as above i think qualifies it ......................i am on holiday at mom but if u want to know more u can always get in touch when i am back after Easter.
All can be explained........................
