I'm after advice from members on what you have done to protect the front of their Boxster. I'm thinking of doing front bumper, bonnet, front wings and mirrors. Who have you used, costs and what has been your experience. All advice welcome!

Although I don't have PPF on my Boxster, I do have the factory applied PPF on my Morgan and it is very effective against stone chips etc. On previous Morgans the PPF was applied by the dealer and the cost was between £400 and £500 IIRC.

Hi, I am looking at paint protection for my Boxster.

Mike at info@mikesautocare.co.uk quoted me the following which may be of interest to you.

The process for applying the Ceramic coatings is almost exactly the same.

We offer 3 different coatings, all of which are fantastic it just comes down to product cost and the time it takes to apply.

Our entry level Ceramic coating is made by Gtechniq it is applied in 2 coating's and lasts for 12 to 36 months, firstly Qtechniq CSL1 is applied for depth of gloss and shine followed 6 hrs later by Gtechniq exo 4 which is a hard coat topping. Job time for this is 2 complete days with collection any time on the 3rd day to allow for curing time. Total cost all inclusive would be £370.00.

Next is the Matrix 3D which again is applied in 2 coatings but this one comes with a 3 year warranty after installation and it is 3 days to complete the work with collection on the 4th day. Total cost all inclusive would be £470.00

Lastly our top end Ceramic is the Matrix 5D, this comes with an 8 year warranty after application and the job time would be 4 full days with collection any time on the 5th day. Total job cost would be £600.00 all inclusive.

Please note: a full paintwork decontamination and correction is carried out prior to polishing and applying the ceramic coating. all of the coatings are applied to every area of the vehicle except for the windscreen, this includes side windows, rear window, lights, number plates, wheels etc.

i hope all that makes sense? any questions please do not hesitate to contact me.

Thank you Jeremy,

Kindest regards

Mike

Before applying ppf you will need the car detailed as there is no point covering up swirly marked paint. A paint correction decal will be about £600 ish.

Front end PPF is about 1200-1500.

I had my Cayman done with PPF and Gyeon Ceramic at Staffordshire Car Care nearly 2 years ago and I've got my new CGTS booked in with them when it arrives.

Full front clip (bumper, bonnet, wings and wing mirrors) rocker panels and rear bumper splash kit is £1500.

Gyeon MOHS Ceramic 5 year protection £300

Gyeon RIM wheel protection £125

Exterior plastic coating £40

ALL VEHICLES INCLUDE Total Paint Cleanse And Decontamination Treatment. Ferrous/Iron/Organic Fallout Removal. Full Vehicle Body/Arches/Door Shut Flush And Wash. Solo Stage Machine Polish Treatment To Remove Minor Factory Defects, To Produce An Increased Gloss And Shine To The Paint. Alcohol Paint Preparation Wipe Down Prior To Ceramic OR PPF Installation.

They also have a YouTube channel so you can see their work.

For a really lasting lush shine go for a Ceramic coating.

For stone chip protection go for a PPF.

For both go for both. If cost is an inconvenience use Turtle Wax.
