I have this on my C4, and that's exactly what the OPC said.
Never had bubbling before on any car that has had a windscreen replaced...
I'm just curious...
have a lot of people encountered bubbling around the seal?
does this really only occur on cars that have had replacement windscreens (if you're not the first & only owner of the car, you can't always tell whether the screen has been replaced)?
If so, is the 996 (and presumably the Boxster) particularly vulnerable to damage while removing a windscreen due to the way it's bonded in?
Neil.

Snap... I've some minor bubbling on drivers side roof runner beside the slots front and back. She's booked in for a service this week, so hopefully I'll get the dealers take on the subject.
They can't claim it's due to glass replacement due to location of the bubbling...

I guess this is another reason to do so - imagine the exchange!
"Ah well, sir, that's not covered as it results from damage done while replacing the windscreen"
"Oh dear. So do you think I should approach the outfit who did the replacement then"
"Oh yes, sir. Totally their fault. Who was it, by the way?"
"[]"

They sent me to my OPC. My OPC sen me to Autoglass.
Classic! Mind you, if the paint later bubbled, I'd still say the OPC was responsible in that case.
