Anyone recommend a supplier for touch up paint on a Rhodium Silver Cayman GTS. The "official" 2 part paint from Porsche was hopeless as was the the stuff from Chipex who had 3 attempts but still couldn't get a half decent match. Any help on touching up my stone chips would be greatly appreciated.

These guys, I have been using them for years and they now have a UK site: http://www.drcolourchip.co.uk/

Mike, As an owner of an Arctic Silver Cayman S, I can sympathise with your problem but unfortunately you're always going to have problems matching silver metallic. Apparently even the body shops have difficulty blending it into exiting panels due to the way the silver-cloured metallic flakes are laid down in the same direction when the panel is first sprayed. So although you may get a reasonable colour match, the stone chip will probably still be obvious. I find that although the Chipex repair kit works really well on my red Golf, it's not so successful on the Cayman. I also reckon that the Chipex system is also far superior to the 2-pack systems which use colour and lacquer, not least because you can remove the paint if you make a mistake and also build up layers gradually to fill the chip if you have the patience. Good luck. Jeff
