Paint Code

Go by the code, not the name. What was called Guards Red in English was called Indischrot (Indian Rad) in German.

Yeah I did think it was 'Guards Red' but my confusion is in the code. The code for that year for so called 'Indian Red' was LM3A, whereas my my service book sticker quotes L3MA. I am pretty sure it is a typo but want to be absolutely sure.

I would agree it's a typo. I'm a painter and my paint system has no trace of L3MA or 3MA The chassis sticker won't be under the bonnet, it will be in the boot, under the carpet at the back between the lights. Have a look there to double check

Yes then one in the boot should always be a carbon copy of the one in the service booklet and it would appear that they are both wrong lol. Thanks for your help fella.

I am trying to track down the paint code for my 1988 turbo. There is no plate under the bonnet so I checked the docs. It quotes the colur code as L3MA, which also corresponds to the sticker in the boot. After doing some digging on the interweb I could only find a listing for code LM3A for that year which is Indian Red. My car is red but I want to be sure that this is the correct code for my car. Is there an actual colour for the code L3MA or have Porsche just made a typo on my stickers in the boot and the sevice book? Can anyone help please?
