Paint Colour Mismatch - Zenith Blue

Need some help on this one !

The front PU and bonnet don't appear to match but there is no signs of any paint job being done !

The PU is in good condition and the bonnet has the usual stone chips, however in bright light or dusk the difference is very notable, with the bonnet looking purple and the PU lookind blue.

Have contacted the dealer who says they have not painted the car, tend to trust them as I have had 2 previous porker's from them.

Anybody any experience with this or these types of colour ?

Thanks

Mark

The PU's are not painted with the rest of the car, they come in direct and fully painted from an outside supplier.
Maybe the quality control missed the difference in shade?

I have Ocean Blue. In bright sunlight looking over the gorgeous curves, it goes from green through blue to purple. The PU is usually more shaded.....

Are you sure it's not just a trick of the light???

Hi Tim,

Trick of the light maybe, that why I was asking you guys what you think !!

I have a couple of sarcastic comments from people at work saying that the car has had a paint job.

I have said its the trick of the light, but you know what people are like - jealous !!!

Thanks
Mark

Tell them it is the superior pearlescent finish option.....

If that doesn't work take a gun into work and when they start on at you fire it into the ceiling.... Watch them all quieten down then[:D]

As far as I understand it, plastic PU's do take up the paint & reflect slightly differently from steel, leading to slight variances according to the light/reflections.
