Paint job needed

I decided to get the sills and a few dents and scratched done on my 944S2, but got a quote in for over £1500.........which I assume is another way me telling me where to go. Anyone know a good bodyshop in and around the Glasie area who know their Porsche's and I can try for a more realistic price.........or.........is that the going rate for 944's ? . No knowing one end of a paint tin from the other I dont know how much is involved in this job.

Just got my front hood and pu painted. looks great + & real VFM. Also "detailed" the car (got a big bloody brush on it). Phone Brooklands , ask for Ray 0131 663 4121
 
Kenny Frame's place is just down the road from me, but was never too sure what the standard of workmanship was like............what work did you get done............any issues good or bad ?

can strongly recommend euan buchan at buchan auotomotive in rutherglen- had vandal damage to my 6 month old 997 repaired- perfection. 0141 6475399 - euan is better known for his towbar business but his paint work is second to none in my experience.
 
Yes have heard he is good I went to him for a quote but maybe it was just me but I got the feeling I was just another job when I got a quote for wing and doors
 
Couple of places I would take my car to:
1. Alan Taylor: A concours nut recommended him.
2. JB Coachworks (Paisley). Personal experience although not my Porsche. Jim is fantastic at matching paint even the metallics I couldn't tell the repairs form the original but he may not be cheap.

Alan Taylor (AC Taylor) rumoured to do good work, but also does a good hand in "Porsche Pricing" - in other words you agree a price with their "pricer" - go back into the office where the manager sees its a porsche and makes some flimsy excuse about "special paint" (bullsh1t) and puts the price up by £200 - utter scum and I would stay away from them.

I used Steve Walkers bodyshop in bathgate who did a good job for a good price.


 
try Steve Walker in ind estate Bathgate /Livingston did a superb job and a few porshe guys have used him since and at least you can get a decent price from him ,unlike some other companies
