As David asked we need to know where you are. I had mine resprayed last Xmas, in fact, it was more than just a respray, more a total body refurb. If you aren't too far away I can highly recommend Pennings in Milton Keynes. Mention my name to Alex (assistant manager) I'm sure he will look after you. BTW, the company CEO owns a 968 CS and 951, along with some more exotic Porsche's.
Apologies I left out some vital information there!
I'm based in Battersea area but happy to travel a little out the way in order to get a decent job.
Cheers

My 944 has a very similar issue on the drivers side of the car, I'm almost certain the original pain didn't have a clear coat added on top making the paint return to a milky finish after cutting and polishing.I had a couple of Mars red mk1 Golf GTi campaigns years ago. Cutting compound made the paint look as good as new for while, but the pink always came back. I don't think VW applied lacquer to the paint back in the 80's though.
Much appreciated! I'll get in touch with them and see what they thinkAs David asked we need to know where you are. If it’s just a paint correction I highly recommend https://gpcustoms.co.uk (gp classics) just outside Reading, they did a fabulous job on my 997. Speak to Pete.
for paint I recommend Riviera Autobody, near Wallingford. Speak to Ty.

In my experience Riviera are only interested in 911 restos. Booked my 944 in and arrived on the day to be told they'd taken on a couple of 911s instead. Chaotic. Asked if I wanted to re book...you can imagine my answer! Don't waste your time there. FWIW I got the work done at a regular body shop...avoids paying the "Porsche Premium".
