I'm having my 964 professionally polished inorder to remove swirls and minor scratches that have accumulated in its past 14 years ownership. While i know there are many products that would enable me to carry out this process myself. I would be far happier if this was carried out by an expert. Discussions with other owners has, as you can imagin created much discussion ... One point in particular, the 'Paint Thickness'!
Do any of you folks know what the paint thickness on a 964 should be? It will be measured in Microns, and i am sure there will be a Porsche specification for this, some where! Is the paint thicker on the tail, roof and bonnet than the doors and wings? were these cars manually painted as opposed to robotically?
