Dear All,
Hopefully someone out there has the answer to to my problems.
I spent today giving the car a good old fashioned clean (6 hours and not finished the outside yet)
Anyway to my great disappointment when I came to polish the bootlid I noticed some paint splashes (dots) on it, that appear to be household paint, now they are only very small but I know they are there. Does anyone know how to remove them without damaging the paint underneath, my guess is they have been there for some time.
My second call for help revolves around the car mats I have just purchased from my local OPC. They have circular velcro patches on the underside that attach to circular velcro plates on the floorpan. My problem is that if I fit the mats so they match the profile of the floorpan then the velcro patches on the mats are only on the last 1/8th of the velcro plates on the floorpan and this isn't enough to hold them in place, if I move the mats so they sit perfectly on the floorpan velcro plates then they don't fit properly, the rear edge of the mat extends under the seat and the front edge of the mat is a good 2 inches short of the pedals which means I keep catching my heel.
I'm not sure if there is a difference in the floorpan between a 987 and 986 model, if so it could be that I have the wrong ones.
I've evn thought about moving the velcro plates in the florrpan forward a couple of inches, however they seem to sit in tailormade holes in the carpet and on assumes the torx screw that holds them down fits into a suitable thread in the floorpan.
Any suggestions would be most welcome, I'm not at all happy with the way they fit so would even consider aftermarket mats if they fit correctly, are there any good ones out there that any of you have experience with.
Many thanks
Nik Mendel
