I've a couple of part-worn front tyres for sale.

I decided to fit new Michelin PS4s all round on my new-to-me 2004 986. One of the rears was 10 years old, one had been repaired and both only had about 3mm of tread left.

The fronts however, still have 6mm on them. They are Continental SportContact2 N2 205/50/17 with a 1716 DOT code. They were fitted to the car in July 2017 and have covered 5000 miles.

I know sometimes people fit part-worns to see one axle through until the other needs replacing so they can go for a change on all four corners so I thought these might suit.

I don’t want anything for them but a donation to the current Red Cross appeal would be appreciated.

Collection only from North Lancs/Cumbria border.

No, bizarrely enough, I’m not joking.

I’ve known plenty of people who want to change all four corners but have one axle with more life left so decide to get a couple of tyres in the interim. If nobody wants them in a week or so I’ll get rid but first just see if anybody wants to make use of them. They’ve 6mm of tread, a few thousand miles of use and no repairs. I’ll bet there are plenty of people out there driving on much worse. It’s not as though they’re retreads or badly repaired.

I take it you don’t want them. In which case maybe just scroll on.

By the way, did you manage to get the non-standard sized tyres onto your rims in the end?
