Hi Folks,

I have a pal who is hunting for a superb 964 (preferably Targa, preferably RED). He will consider Cabriolets and coupes though his preference is Targa. He will also consider other colours.

Very good history is important to evidence good care over time as is the current condition of the car. Low miles preferred although condition is primary.

please respond here or pm me if you have thought about selling but have not put your thoughts into action yet.

I am not a trader and have nothing to gain here except to help a pal find his dream car. He is not a PCGB member hence me doing the posting...

Cheers

Joe

thx james. We already looked at it.

I saw the ad for that one about a week ago. Considering that it was *only* about £20K at a dealer, it set me thinking that it was unlikely to be any better than the £16K private (baltic blue) targa that folk were describing as cheap (and therefore there must be something wrong with it). My guess is that you found the red one to be nice in the pictures but no so good when inspected?

Right. To be fair we saw it in a pre-prep state... but i thought there was much to prep and the history was incomplete. there was no feel-good. only yesterday i described it as a high-teens car and that is how i see it.

is your mate's white coupe still available? i am trying to talk my pal towards that...

I shall. What are you looking for? Colour? Price? Miles? etc.

993c2 coupe or 964c2 coupe .. manual box only

colour / miles / doesnt matter .. what does matter is mostly original paint , no rust bubbles & looking like theyve been cared for ( seen some with thick layers of paint & others with respray flaking off ( jzm car for instance) and others that are just tatty )

I feel your pain James. There is a lot of rubbish out there... Some of it rather well dressed-up.

Are you referring to the silver 964 at JZM? That is strong money for the mileage etc. but with rebuild and respray and re trim it should present well so i wondered why it hadn't sold...

yes the silver one ... bubbles on the front scuttle and poor respray peeling in places

Surprised to hear that, and disappointed also.

I had a look at it when I was in for service the other month, but not in any sort of detail.

What did they say about the body issues? That they would sort them out before purchase?

There are some massively expensive cars for sale there these day though.
