Panamera figures

Congratulations Joe on taking over the Register.
First time I've bought a Porsche. Bought a 2nd hand, only 3100 on the clock Panamera Turbo. Reason was used to drive Audis and then bought Mercs last one an S500 - useless in the snow last year so wanted among other things 4 wheel drive.
MPG surprising over about 5500 miles including the M25, M42, M6 car parks over 24mpg and on several 175 mile journeys getting in excess of 29 mpg.
In torrential rain coming back from Cornwall last week, car stuck to the road like glue. Conclusion: brilliant car.
One matter Porsche Club and the Register might try to take up is with Autocar. Their test page report gives the Panamera Turbo figure for 50-70 mph as 13.5 secs. I have phoned and said they must be driving it backwards or with the brake on as they give the Cayenne figure as 3.6. Looking at the test on the Net the figure is 4.2 secs in 5th gear. Whether they did it in 7th gear I do not know but if they did the figure is not in their test report. A comparison with other makes shows something is incorrect eg Merc A Class 10.8 !!!!!
Hope more register their Panameras so there is more to report.

Nice one, glad to hear the car is all you need it to be cracked up to be, i have the 3.6 V6 and is nothing like the cayenne 3.6 v6 that i had prior, the mpg when i went to south of france last month was 31, cant grumble at that and yes the handling is great, as well as breaking which i found out yesterday coming back from cornwall, caravan pulled straight out into fast lane and with a touch of breaks, abs cuts in instantaniously and alla!!!!! still in a straight line and no damage which is always a bonus.
i too had and Audi A5 coupe and you dont get the control, speed, and comfort in those cars.

enjoy, and definately will look at those figures and see if we can advise them the correct figures,
