Panamera Hybrid Issues

Hello All

I have a Panamera Hybrid just over 3 years old. Bought in May. Within 2 weeks, it wouldn't charge. Long story short, the car has been back to the OCP 7 times in 5 months. Most recently died on a motorway and went into limp mode.
Im at my wits end, now formally rejected the car. Had a Carrera before this for 5 years and not one problem. There are no names as at this stage it would be unfair until they have a solution to my problem. How do and who do i escalate this too in Porsche GB.
Currently sat with Customer Support. Im about one week away from contacting the media referencing this car. Anyone else had a problem like this or have any advice to cut through the tape the at the OCP is putting me through. Currently dont have a loan car
and mine has been in OCP for two weeks.

Im assuming you are referring to" Official Porsche Centre" when you say OCP. Did you buy the car from the OPC ???. You really need to sit down with the OPC and find out what exactly they have done so far and ask for a detailed explanation of the fault finding routes that they have taken. I would ask for the complete service history of your car from new, were it was originally supplied from , how many owners , mileage check etc.
I can understand your frustration but my own experience is that my own OPC operate in a very professional way and really go beyond the extra mile to help.
Sit down one last time with them and discuss.

thamms for the advice. You are right I’ve got ocp in my head for some reason. They are nice guys but behave like a regular garage when it comes to issues. They called me to ask when the car faulted because there were so many fault codes they didn’t k know what to look at. I’ve asked for a full history but to date haven’t released it. I have now rejected the car as it’s within six months and everything has gone quiet.
Mom just about to write to the Porsche MD, because I’ve had enough.
 
Hi, I have owned my Panamera SE-Hybrid for the last two years (since new), at the last service in March (20,000 miles) the garage informed me that there was soot in the manifold and it had to be cleaned out with a special tool, this took the official dealer 4 weeks to complete as they had no tool , then the wrong tool and finally the correct tool. My query for the greater community is, "is this a common problem or should I be worried for the future?"
 
Our Cayenne Hybrid which has the same Audi V6 engine as the Panamera suffered Carbon problems at 36,000 miles it was decarbonised under warranty. At 38,000 miles it suffered the same problem. The OPC said the Air pump had failed and changed the pump. 2,000 miles later the engine management light was back on and the AA diagnostics showed secondary airway fault (Carbon). The car was recovered back to the OPC for a further decarbonisation. We now have the car back but have been advised that it will probably need a further decarbonisation in 20,000 miles.

I believe that the problem stems from the Audi Direct injection engines that were not designed for hybrid use. The standard Audi engines suffer from carbon problems in normal Audi cars (Google it ). When the same engine is used in a hybrid, the engine never really gets a chance to reach normal working temperature and consequently the frequent stop starts on a cold engine is not allowing the products of combustion to burn away hence the 'Soot'.

Our son's Panamera Hybrid has also suffered engine problems and whilst this was at 35,000 miles ( before full carbon build up) it suffered a catastrophic engine failure, agin I believe due to asking an Audi Engine to work hard when stone cold.


 
Awaiting recovery again. At 42,000 miles same problem, diagnosed by AA. Secondary Air problem due to build up of Soot in airways.
 
A different scenario but we had DPF issues with our Macan and found an amicable solution with the OPC agreeing to buy back the car after 16 months of ownership from new. We dealt directly with the Dealer Principal who gave us several other options including purchasing a new alternative with a contribution from Porsche. If I had bought the car in May from the OPC and it had been back to the workshop 7 times in a month, I would be expecting a full refund!
 
Sorry, I've just re-read your post. You say the car has been back to the OPC 7 times in 5 months. Was it May 2018 you purchased the car, not last month? If so, I think the best you can hope for is a part exchange.
 
As a follow on to my previous post, the hybrid engine has again got blocked secondary Airways. The OPC is awaiting instructions again from Porsche Technical !
