Panamera outside your door

This is the second time in a couple of days this has happened; I live on the edge of Silverstone village just before the end of the 40mph limit, a silver Panamera has just stopped outside my driveway throttled up to the rev limiter and let go of the brakes to do a standing start, I have to admit to being not that impressed!

It seems a bit out of order if inside the 40mph zone.

I had a good look at a Panamera for the first time in Leeds OPC on Saturday, my god those front calipers are huge, never seen anything like it.

I bet he's from the Silverstone Porsche Centre or the Experience itself, take his number and report him! Fair enough if there wasn't anywhere more suitable to show off, like a nearby track or something...[:'(]

I think a complaint to Porsche would be in order.
If they are going to demonstrate the pointless launch control, then do it where they are not going to disturb anyone.
It seems you are on thier "demonsstration route"...

Apart from the general annoyance I wouldn't like the idea of customer cars - or potential customer cars, being thrashed from cold by exuberant OPC employees anyway. Some poor sucker will pay alot of money for that car only for the engine to give up the day after the warranty expires due to the damage this geezer has caused in thrashing a cold engine.

sawood ~ that's exactly the early life experience I would assume if considering any "low mileage dealer demonstrator". Unfortunately.

I'd quite like it if the local OPC would roll up outside my gate and demonstrate the launch control. (It does have very impressive 0-60 (and particularly 0-30) stats). The first time anyway [8|] [&:]

Indeed. You know those AMG cars thrashed round the Mercendes Benz World track at Brooklands? The all receive a service, new brakes and tyres and are quietly slipped into the dealer network for re-sale. Same is probably true for Porsche... []

Still, they'll be nicely run in [;)]
