My son works for my Company and has been driving a Carrera S cabriolet as his Company Car. The Benefit in Kind (BIK) was such that it was not making economic sense to replace it with another 911, and from a practical point of view, the growing children were finding the rear seats a bit cramped..
To cut a long story short, he has taken delivery (on Monday) of a Panamera S e Hybrid in Basalt Black with Cream and Black interior.
The CO2 emissions are 71 g/km which puts it below a Toyota Prius and in consequence into the lowest BIK group. This will save my son over £1,000.00 a month compared to what he has been paying for his present 911.
From my point of view the Road tax is Zero which is a £480.00 a year saving and there is no congestion charge.
The electric car does not hang about either. With 416 hp available, it will hit 62mph in 5.5 seconds and go on to a top speed of 167 mph.
The claimed combined fuel consumption is 91.1 mpg.It will also go from home to our offices and back on electric power only, up to speeds of 84 mph
It is really odd to see the car pull away and hear a slight electrical whine whilst you gaze at four enormous Tail pipes !
From a Company point of view, the enhanced capital allowance is 100% in the first year. The biggest Bummer is that the Government will not approve it for the £5,000.00 subsidy that they give on many other electric cars.
My son is a very happy Bunny and absolutely loves everything about the car especially in sport mode when you conveniently forget about economy !
