Celebrating 20 Jahre of the Cup Car and my Gardeners 90th the above is a serious call to Duty ........ NOT obligatory that everyone drives all or one, but taking part as part of Group Tour. This has been touched on another thread and suggested by Charles Sturrock and Hacki ....... I know it's Six Months away, but such a 5/7 day trip needs a little air...... any other Registers/Regions enthusiasts very welcome.

Got any leads on any good RS carpets for yourself Des? I'm hoping you get a seriously good RS for next year! Mobil.de has lots of interesting choice - check out the black one with the big wing at E48k. [:)] Better choice in Europe - but you know all this. You know ALL the cars available in the UK. If you want to go on a foray into Europe to check out a few I'll go with you and I dare say Chris might want to support you too. [8|][8|][8|] All aboard the bus! John's doing his best in Japan to seek out a few! [:D]

Thanks Paul for the support, yes it would good to look in Europe .... with the pound at a low they still seem to be similar money in Europe, you have a quick car Paul, why would you want to change it, especially after the expert tuition you had ....[;)]

I'm looking for a tour of the Porsche museum --- ?

Or a Hockenheim experience ? (spelling ?)

Hacki, what would you suggest ?

This could be FUN [:)]

What time of the year do you plan to go?

In that area there are some nice places like Porsche museum (haven't been there myself yet), the Mercedes museum (great) and and a little bit away the Technik Museum Sinsheim. Hockenheim track? We have to check, when it will be open.

Greetings from sunny California, going to see the NASCAR race in Fontana tomorrow.

Porsche museum a bargain €4 for PC members and €60 for a guide -however, the free audio guide good and there are plenty of boards to read about the cars!

You'll need at least a day for Porsche and Merc museum and a full day for Sinsheim...

good to hear they have made a concessionary price for members[:)] Want to go to museum too. Might be February for me. other museums on the way are Schlumpf in Mulhouse (now national automuseum i think) and rosso bianco south of Frankfurt. Both worth a look. Sinsheim is excellent as well of course.

There is free parking (usually 4 Euros) for Porsche Club members, just show your Club membership card when you pay at the desk in the reception area. The Porsche parking is on the first underground level, of two. Also you will get 10% discount in the Museum shop by showing your Club Membership card so don't forget it. Incidentally despite the Museum being inside the Umwelt Zone (Low Emission Zone) When the PEYT members went to the museum we had no problems with access even though not everyone had the regulation Umwelt Sticker (Feinstaubplackette). Not sure when the local Police will start inspecting the windscreen stickers and issuing the on the spot 40 euro fines though! Many of the larger towns and cities in Germany have now become LEZ's and post 1993 cars will need to buy a sticker from a TUV office. Note cars between 1979 and 1993 will be banned from the LEZ's because of their "Poor emmissions" ie. no catalysts. Cars older than 30 years (a rolling 30 year limit) are exempt from the regulations.
