Park Assist

Hello!

Can anyone tell me if it's possible to fit rear Park Assist to a 997? I'm considering buying a used one (997) without this option on it. If so, does it look exactly the same as factory fitted; how much does it cost; and can you get it done at an OPC?

Thanks for any replies.

Adrian.

Actually Iain, while I'm on; do you also know if it's also possible to fit an aluminium gear shifter? (How much are they and can I DIY?)

Thanks again.

Adrian.

my opc retro fitted this to my c2s. you couldn't tell the difference to manufacturer fit

cost £350

Hi - when you say you couldn't tell the difference - could you REALLY not tell the difference or was it just very good? Reason I ask is, my OPC retrofitted for me on a used purchase and though it is very good, they stand proud of the bumper where the factory fit are sunk in. They said the sunk in ones are not available. Is this bull?

Adrian, I don't know about aluminium shifters I'm afraid but the rear park assist was fitted by OPC Chester. The sensors are completely flush with the rear panel and are colour-matched perfectly. I'll try to find some pics of the car.

I'll try again.

You might struggle to see the sensors in these photos as I wasn't particularly trying to photograph them. They are very unobtrusive but can get a bit of wax in the surrounds at detailing-time.

I think this is an important accessory. The other ones I want are cruise control and a thicker steering wheel.

I have just had a set fitted to my 997 C2 Tip.

Cost - £299 inc vat fitted.

Fitted by - P.C.T Porsche Specialists (Coventry) - 08456 444 993 - Contact: Nick.

They are colour coded - Silver - The sensors look & work great.

What I need as active park assist that warns other idiots they are getting close to my car[]. I can judge my own car - it's the other folk who are the problem.

Can you get park assist wired up to the car's horn and leave it switched on while your car is parked?

opc bristol arranged the retro fit of my rear parking sensors. they fit in the bumper as per the manufacter fitment, ie flush, and colour matched perfectly
